Biography
Michael qualified as a solicitor in 2003. Since then, he has practised in dispute resolution, at Lexcel accredited firms in London and the south-east, to salaried partner level.
Michael joined PWW in January 2024, and he is developing and heading up the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice, covering contract disputes, residential and commercial property disputes, contentious probate and trusts, professional negligence, and debt recovery.
At an earlier firm providing legal services to a stock exchange listed property-based plc, Michael gained vast experience of applications to the First-tier Tribunal (Property) including service charge disputes, major works’ dispensation from statutory consultation, and determinations for breach of covenants.
Michael’s considerable contentious probate and trusts’ practice covers Inheritance Act claims, contested wills, removal of executors, and Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act claims.
Michael is also an accredited mediator, and advocates earlier settlement of disputes, but, if necessary, furthers his clients’ position by seeking the intervention of the County Court or High Court, where appropriate. Michael has also been involved in cases to the Court of Appeal.
Having contributed to many articles for Thomson Reuters Practical Law , Michael’s legal and civil procedure knowledge is an advantage to his clients and their cases.
