Biography

Aliya first joined PWW in 2017 as a paralegal and later developed a particular expertise in charity property when qualifying in 2020.  Aliya also assists the property department with sales and acquisition of both freehold and leasehold residential properties as well as lease extensions.

Additionally, she can provide immigration advice to religious organisations in the context of religious orders bringing ministers to the UK.

Aliya brings a thoughtful and empathetic approach to advising clients on complex and sensitive issues.  

Recent Experience

  • Sale of a residential freehold property which faced great difficulty in reaching the contract stage
  • Advising clients on residential sales, purchases, remortgages, transfer of equity and lease extensions.
  • Advising religious clients on restrictive covenants in relation to cemeteries
  • Advising charity clients on a short term leases and licences
  • Advising on first registration of unregistered land, some of which comes with challenges due to lack of documented evidence
  • Advising members of religious orders on sponsorship licences

    Aliya is currently tackling motherhood with a toddler, but that does not stop from fulfilling her passion in travelling and photography. She also has first-hand experience working with a charity which supports disadvantaged children in the northern province of Sri Lanka.
