For both the voluntary and independent sectors, we advise on constitutional issues, redevelopment projects and other matters relating to school and university reorganisation.

We have particular expertise in the conversion of schools into academies whether as stand-alone conversions, sponsored convertors or as part of an academy chain or multi-academy Trust.

We provide specialist advice on the particular nature of faith based schools including the relationship between the trusts on which the school land is held and the day-to-day operation of the school itself.

Within the independent sector, we have experience in the mergers of schools, development projects, closures of schools and all related matters such as charity law, employment matters and pensions issues. We also provide advice on commercial matters relevant to schools such as trading subsidiaries.

Within the higher education sector, we act for a number of providers including universities and theological colleges and advise on all issues relating to the provision of higher education.
